About Brett Ewing
Brett F. Ewing is the owner, Senior Financial Advisor and Chief Market Strategist of First Franklin Financial Services, an independent wealth management firm based in Tallahassee, Florida. A Tallahassee native and third-generation financial planner, Brett Ewing is known for his economic research and market commentary, and he’s regularly quoted in leading financial publications and featured on national and international business news programs. Licensed in 1997, he has spent nearly 30 years in the financial services industry and will mark his 30-year milestone in January 2027.
First Franklin’s history goes back to 1966, when George F. Ewing founded George F. Ewing Insurance with an emphasis on life insurance, 401(k) management and mutual funds. The agency became affiliated with Sun Life of Canada in 1973 and expanded into property and casualty insurance in 1982. In 1998, the firm was renamed First Franklin Financial Services in honor of George’s father, Leonard Franklin Ewing, the “First Franklin.”
Brett Ewing moved back to Tallahassee and joined the firm in 2000. In 2008, he took over operations of First Franklin, and the firm earned its first Quantum Leap Award that same year. George retired in 2009 but stayed on at the firm as Comptroller. Today, First Franklin serves the retirement and investment needs of families, individuals, nonprofits and businesses across North Florida, a record of service that now spans more than 50 years. Brett Ewing takes pride in leading a grassroots, independent firm built on that foundation.
Brett Ewing graduated from Florida State University in December 1994 with a dual degree in Economics and Finance. He went on to earn his Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida in December 1996, and he became licensed the following year.
